Make space for a conversation
You may prefer online therapy because travelling is difficult, your routine changes or you feel more comfortable beginning from a familiar place. Whatever your reason, online work should still give you time and privacy to focus on the conversation. Liz can discuss whether this format is appropriate for the support you are looking for.
The same person, a different setting
Your therapist is Liz Gaffney MIACP, an Integrative and Humanistic IACP accredited Psychotherapist and Supervisor. She brings two decades of experience with individuals, couples and groups. Her approach is compassionate and trauma-informed, centred on the relationship between therapist and client rather than on a one-size-fits-all method.
Before your first online session
Choose a quiet, private place where you can speak without being overheard or interrupted. Check your internet connection and the device you plan to use. Ask Liz which platform is used, how you will receive joining details and what to do if the connection drops. The practical arrangements should be clear before you begin; please do not send meeting passwords or detailed health information through the website.
Online or in-person therapy?
There is no need to decide based only on convenience. Think about privacy at home, your comfort with video and whether a dedicated room away from daily life would help you focus. If you live in Tallaght, Clondalkin, Crumlin or elsewhere in South Dublin, you can ask about online sessions or attending Harold’s Cross. Liz does not advertise separate premises in those areas.
Fees, availability and location
Fees are available on enquiry. Session arrangements and suitability are confirmed directly with Liz. If you will be outside Ireland during sessions, say so before booking so she can check whether working together is possible. Online therapy is not an emergency or crisis service.
Your questions
Can I ask about online couples sessions?
Yes. Explain briefly that you are enquiring as a couple and ask Liz to confirm suitability, format, duration and fees.
What if I do not have privacy at home?
Discuss this before arranging online sessions. An in-person appointment may be a more appropriate option; Liz can talk through the practical choices with you.
Will my enquiry be a therapy session?
No. An initial enquiry is to ask about arrangements and availability. Keep it brief; the website is not a place for detailed clinical discussion.
A simple first step
Enquire about availability, fees and the support you are looking for. Please keep your message brief and avoid detailed personal or clinical information.
